Iranian Web users have cut off access to the Internet leaving millions of people without access to e-mail and social networks.
Google services, Yahoo, Hotmail and various other sites cannot be accessed.
The Iranian Government has blocked many sites using to gain control over what is uploaded, posted and discussed on the Internet.
The government’s technology officials have announced the construction of a domestic Internet network comparable to an office intranet, which would block many popular sites. Once the new network goes into effect, ordinary Iranians would wake up to a more censored Internet.
““None of the fun sites such as Facebook work anymore. All I can read is official Iranian news Web sites […] Now I devote myself to work, only work. No Internet” said Mostafa, an assistant in a printing house.
